What are we looking for?
Financial Manager
Currently the team of Fungy Business is in the process of product development. This necessitates the need for a financial manager who can support the team by conducting financial analysis to source raw materials at fair trade prices. Moreover, also support the team by applying for possible external funding options to finance the prototyping phase. Lastly, the most important aspect being that the individual needs to have a keen interest in the topics of Mycelium and Sustainability!

Function specific tasks
– Support the project in finding and applying for funds to finance product development process
– Support the team by conducting financial analysis to source raw materials at fair trade prices to conduct the prototyping
– Have an interest in the topics of mycelium and sustainability
Secretary
The secretary is in charge of taking the minutes and keeping track of the task schedule. It is important for a secretary to be organised and to the point. In addition, the secretary can also help with other tasks like market research and marketing.

– Support the project in taking the minutes and keeping track of the task schedule
– In case the chair is not present, the secretary can take on the role of chairing the meeting
Product Researcher/Developer
A product researcher/developer in a start-up like Fungy Business, which focuses on mycelium-based products with sustainability as its core value, plays a crucial role in driving innovation and ensuring that the products meet the highest standards of environmental responsibility and market demand.
Preferred skills
– Passionate about fungi, product development and sustainability.
– A prior background knowledge on fungal mycelium and development is preferred.
– Interest in conducting scientific research and experimentation.
– Commitment to sustainable practices and principles.
– Excellent communication skills to articulate scientific concepts to non-experts.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize processes. Proficiency in using scientific and analytical tools.
Function specific tasks
– Conduct thorough literature reviews of existing research on mycelium and related substrates and stay updated with the latest scientific advancements and market trends.
– Investigate various species of fungi and their mycelium to identify those with the most promising properties for the intended applications (e.g., packaging, textiles, construction materials).
– Develop and conduct experiments to cultivate mycelium under different conditions, optimize growth parameters, and test various substrates for sustainability and performance and create
prototypes of potential products and refine them based on testing results.
– Collaborate with designers and engineers to translate mycelium material into viable products. Test these products for durability, functionality, and environmental impact. Generate innovative ideas for new mycelium-based products that align with market trends and sustainability goals.
